Recently, Caterpillar launched its one-year centennial celebration at the 2025 International Consumer Electronics Show (CES® 2025), demonstrating how the company continues to shape the future of the industry and empower customers with its advantages in innovation and new technologies. Caterpillar showed the industry how its investment in core technologies in autonomous driving, alternative fuels, connectivity and digitalization, and electrification (AACE) can help customers cope with energy transformation and build future construction sites.
Rob Hoenes, Caterpillar’s global senior vice president of electrification and energy solutions, said:
The technology Caterpillar showcased at CES is the result of our continued innovation to make the industry safer, smarter, more sustainable and stronger. We created immersive and interactive experiences for exhibitors that highlight Caterpillar’s popular and durable customer solutions. These solutions are based on data and enabled by cutting-edge technology.
At CES, visitors experienced Caterpillar innovations firsthand, such as the 55,000-pound (25-ton) CAT® 972 wheel loader equipped with a hybrid-converted Extended Range Electric Machine (EREM) technology demonstrator. The machine was built by a small team of engineers in just 12 weeks. The battery-powered demonstrator maintains the same outstanding performance as diesel-powered machines, but without the need for DC charging and additional power infrastructure, providing a new sustainable solution for the job site.
The Caterpillar booth also provided visitors with more opportunities to see innovation in action, including:
Sustainable Solutions for the Job Site
Experience a 24-hour electrified job site simulation, showing real customers’ data insights and energy flows on the job site with Caterpillar’s electrification innovation ecosystem.
Tool Portfolio for the Next 100 Years
Visitors saw innovation in the Centennial Center area. This area focuses on 100 years of technological advancements, with a focus on innovations related to sustainability.
CAT® Command Technology
Experience the power of Cat equipment at your fingertips. This remote control technology gives equipment the ability to automatically control, helping customers improve safety and efficiency.
