To meet the growing demand for natural gas backup market, Cat® G3516 1.5 MW fast response backup natural gas generator set has emerged. This product has excellent 100% load surge and better transient response capabilities, and has been awarded EPA certified for critical load applications.
Cat G3516
Further expanding Caterpillar’s rapid response backup natural gas generation solutions, the range now includes backup power segments from 175 kW to 2.5 MW. The G3516 meets NFPA 110 Level 1 Type 10 and is UL 2200 certified. It is designed to allow the unit to accept load from cold start, 100% load surge and quickly return to rated speed within 6.5 to 7.5 seconds.
Caterpillar’s Rapid Response Backup Natural Gas Genset is the first natural gas generator set certified by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency for emergency and non-emergency applications. At the same time, the backup natural gas generator set can reduce NOx levels to 0.5 g/bhp-hr without the need for after-treatment.
“Natural gas generator sets are becoming increasingly attractive as a backup power option as users become increasingly concerned about environmental, social and governance goals.”
“By adding the G3516 to our portfolio of fast-response backup natural gas generator sets, we are making it easier for customers to configure power solutions that deliver the superior performance required for mission-critical applications while reducing carbon emissions.”
